Pre-Construction

The pre-construction phase lays the foundation for the success of each project and helps Clients better understand their project needs and costs before committing to any work. This planning stage involves defining the project, analyzing its needs, identifying potential issues, estimating the scope of work and costs, and planning and scheduling. Our pre-construction process always starts with an in-person meeting with the Client and a job site examination. During this meeting, we will gain a better understanding of what you are trying to accomplish and the work requirements needed to successfully meet your project goals. We will evaluate the construction site, permit and inspection requirements, and any other unique situations that need to be resolved before or during construction. We will answer any questions you might have, and once goals and objectives are defined, we will take all necessary measurements and photos of the job site to determine an estimated cost and project timeline. After our initial meeting, you will receive a detailed estimate, and if you are working with a tight budget, we may offer an alternative solution to help you firm up your budget. If you agree with the estimated cost and timeline, we will schedule the project and move forward with the construction phase. In some cases, before a particular project can begin, it is necessary to obtain a building permit from the appropriate municipality. To obtain a building permit, specifications and plans must be provided to the municipality's building department along with the permit application. If permits and inspections are needed, you can choose to complete this process yourself, or we can add this service to our estimate and handle the permit and inspection requirements for you.
